of your actions, keep Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) firmly in mind. At Sanyo Chemical, based on the CSR guidelines established in 2009, we promote CSR activities by stipulating the officials in charge of each guideline of compliance, and publishing their commitments as well as their concrete actions and schedules inside the company. Then, their progress is reported and discussed at the CSR Committee meeting held twice a year and the PDCA (plan-do-check-act) cycle is applied. In FY 2012, we revised the basic policy concerning the internal control system in order to strengthen our corporate governance. We also revised the regulations of the CSR Committee and the Compliance Committee to clearly separate managerial decision-making and supervision by the Board of Directors from business execution. In addition we switched the chairperson of both these committees from the Chairman of the Board to the President. In FY 2012, based on the self-evaluation method for CSR activities established in FY 2011, we took stock of our CSR activities, ascertained their weak points and the areas that were lagging behind, and included countermeasures in a plan for 2013. At the same time, we began taking CSR line activities to solve workplace problems and adjusted the system by election of CSR leaders in each workplace and other measures. As the first step, we make efforts to educate all employees with regard to CSR.
