POLYQUID
1. Coating Agents
POLYQUID PA-30 can be mixed together with plasticizers, anti-adhesive agents, coloring agents, etc. if necessary, and then can be diluted with purified water to a suitable viscosity for use.
A. Plasticizers
Generally, a plasticizer is added to this product in because this product itself forms a hard and fragile film. The standard concentration of the plasticizer is 10 to 25 wt % to the evaporated residue of POLYQUID PA-30 (solids content).
Triacetin, propylene glycol, MACROGOL (40, 1500, 4000, 6000), glycerin, POLYSORBATE 80, etc. are used as plasticizers.
B. Anti-adhesive Agents
Anti-adhesive agents are used for preventing preparations from adhering because adhesion may occur between preparations in the coating process. Generally, talc is applied as an anti-adhesive agent. Kaoline, colloidal silica, etc. can be also applied. POLYQUID PA-30 should not be used together with magnesium stearate because it may agglutinate copolymer ingredients in this product.
C. Coloring Agents
Coloring agents are used for ease of identification. Iron () oxide, iron () oxide (yellow color) and titanium oxide are applied as coloring agents.
Resistance of POLYQUID PA-30 to the 1st fluid1) end to become worse when the amount of titanium oxide exceeds 30 wt % to solids content of this product.

2. Mixing Procedure for Coating Agents
Anti-adhesive agents and coloring agents cannot be dispersed in water if they are not rapidly agitated. However, copolymer ingredients may be separated out from POLYQUID PA-30 when this product is rapidly agitated. Therefore, the recommended mixing procedure is as follows:
Mixing Procedure for Coating Agents
Mix a plasticizer and purified water at room temperature to uniformly dissolve.
Add anti-adhesive agents and coloring agents to the mixture, and then agitate it rapidly using a homogenizer to uniformly disperse.
Add POLYQUID PA-30 to the mixture while agitating slowly. Agitate it until mixed uniformly.
Pass the mixture through a filter (gap: approx. 150 µm) if necessary. Then, a coating agent is obtained.
[Notice: The resulting coating agent should be agitated at a moderate speed in order to prevent the ingredients from aggregations and depositions until it will be used as a coating agent.]
Precaution against Mishandling
* Determine the optimal agitation conditions for POLYQUID PA-30 according to the apparatus applied because copolymer ingredients may be separated out when it is rapidly agitated.
* Use this product after confirming the performance to allow it to exert its expected performance, because the effects, stability and safety depend on other agents added, the amount, formula, direction for use, etc.
